The day I first watched The Devil Wears Prada in 2016 was the day I knew I wanted to go to Fashion Week. Aside from her judgmental vice, something about Miranda Priestly’s industry status captivated me. Although 16-year-old me encompassed more of Andy’s character traits at the time, I knew that one day, I wanted to find myself working behind the scenes of a fashion week show.
…With that being said, I am incredibly excited that I will be attending New York Fashion Week this upcoming September!!! Not only am I lucky enough to attend a show, but I will be styling 8 models in Blue Bone Jewelry!! This is an absolute dream come true. Teenage me is screaming right now.
It was spring break and I was driving home from dinner with my parents and good friend when I got the news. Shocked and confused, I initially dismissed the congratulatory email as spam. It wasn’t until I had a phone call with the agency in the few days following that I realized my dreams were, in fact, coming true.
Blue Bone was selected for Flying Solo’s “New York Fashion Week Ones To Watch” list! Flying Solo is the largest independent designer platform in the US and has been featured in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and the New York Times. Out of thousands of applicants, I was selected as 1 of 70 designers to have my work featured in a runway show in New York Fashion week in September 2022!
Having the opportunity to showcase my designs in New York Fashion Week is an absolutely surreal feeling. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and ecstatic to see what the upcoming months have in store for Blue Bone Jewelry! Let's do this.
